SUMS shortlisted for NASEN Award

Wolverhampton reports handheld success with SUMS Maths and SUMS Phonics

SUMS Maths has long been a favourite in Wolverhampton schools using PDAs in their handheld projects. Now a Wolverhampton infant school has reported that SUMS Phonics has also provided great enjoyment on the PDAs, with up to 200 handheld devices planned to come into use in the next phase.

Hartlepool Secondary School wins Northern Grid award with SUMS Maths on PDA

Dragging our favourite Fraction Monkey to the right place on the number line on our Wii site www.wsums.com (Wii SUMS) can be more challenging than two consecutive strikes. SUMS Inner City
7th April 2008
SUMS Online has been awarded contracts to provide SUMS Maths to two local authorities with problem inner city schools. More than 100 Primary schools in Bristol and Leicester have been provided with SUMS Maths as part of strategic action led by their CLCs to improve standards. All schools have been provided with locally installed copies for in-school use, and Home Edition CDs for pupils revising for their SATS. Leicester has also been provided with a full SCORM implementation on their Fronter Learning Platform (VLE) so that schools and teachers can gain web access on demand. |
Free SCORM compliant Maths Showcase for VLE released

SUMS have packaged up the 8 sample resources from the Playground area of the www.sums.co.uk website into a Maths Showcase pack. This is available free of charge as demonstration material to anyone running a VLE/Learning Platform. Simply email david@sums.co.uk with your details and we will email you the pack. The full set of 85 resources is, of course, also available in SCORM compliant form for VLEs like RM Kaleidos, StudyWiz, Fronter, Microsoft Sharepoint Learning Kit (SLK) and Moodle. |
SUMS on PSP retail product launched
15th October 2007
SUMS maths games for the Sony Play Station Portable (PSP) are now available on the web at www.sumsfun.co.uk . The retail packs will also soon be available from retail outlets. The software is provided on a 256 memory stick and works with all PSP models. Schools are already using SUMS on PSPs within the classroom, and the demand from parents for a home version triggered the development of the retail product. |
SUMS launch of HANDHELD PHONICS Synthetic Phonics Software at HL07

Language final release

of the complete Welsh language translation of the core SUMS games
and activities for KS1 and KS2. We are extremely grateful to all
of the people who have helped us iron out the remaining language
issues, and hope that the Symiau set of games and activities will
make a real contribution to mathematics education in Wales. If you
