SUMS on UniServity uniservity logo
If you came to this page from a Search engine, start reading at our main SCORM page, where there are also eight samples that you can use to see how it all works.

UniServity is used by lots of UK local authorities.

GUIDE. Adding SUMS Maths SCORM 2004 packs to UniServity

Screenshot 1. Finding the Control Panel.

To start, you need to be logged in with the appropriate authority to create a course. When you enter the appropriate area to create a course you will see the Control panel at the bottom of the page. Click to open it and you will see a "Content" heading under which is a Resources link.

Screenshot 2. Listing existing resources on Uniservity.

This shows the existing Resources listing. In this case, five SUMS Maths SCORM 2004 packs have already been uploaded.

Screenshot 3. Adding a new SUMS Maths SCORM 2004 pack to UniServity.

To upload a new SUMS SCORM 2004 pack click the icon which looks like a blue book. It is called the "add learning resource button". You then get a page where you can browse to the SCORM 2004 zip file. You also add availability dates, who can access, and a descriptive 'caption'.

Assuming that all goes well you will see a message as follows "The SCORM package has been uploaded successfully".

When you go back to the Resource area the new pack should be listed (Screenshot 2 above).

Screenshot 4. Running a new SUMS Maths SCORM 2004 pack to UniServity.

This easiest way to run a SUMS SCORM 2004 pack is to go to the Resource area seen in Screenshot 2. Click on the name of the activity and (possibly after some time delay) a new window loads. Below you can see the SUMS Flash activity Picto Perfect in a smaller window, running above another UniServity window.

Old problem.

On UniServity installations if you uploaded your content before 29-06-09 you may still get this message:

"Unable to locate the LMS's API Implementation.
Communication with the LMS will not occur."

UniServity have now upgraded their SCORM player and the message no longer appears - but only for SUMS packs uploaded since 29-06-09. Many thanks to Richard Clarke of Brighton and Hove for keeping SUMS updated on this.
